NDSCLSD is a Montreal-based studio blending racing culture, manga influences, sci-fi worlds, and precision craftsmanship into one distinct design language. What started as an obsession with machines and myth making grew into a design practice defined by precision, imagination, and a refusal to do things the easy way.
Every garment is created entirely in-house, shaped from heavyweight fabrics, leathers, and patterns tailored to a single wearer. The team works intentionally solitude without internet or digital noise, just the sound of sewing machines and the freedom to create without distraction.
In that stillness, pieces emerge not as trends, but as artifacts. The brand focuses on producing singular, long-lasting garments rather than mass-made fashion. Waste becomes opportunity, off-cuts are pieced into intricate patchworks and accessories, transforming leftovers into signatures.
NDSCLSD stands for slow craft, unapologetic detail, and wearable art made for those who value individuality and designs born from the worlds that shaped them.

BARCODE goes backstage with designer Malakai Vandelac from NDSCLSD, after their F/W25 runway show called “SUPERVILLAINS”. He briefly unveils the inspiration behind his captivating collection within a world of supervillain theme design and visual storytelling!

Rochelle: Tell me why do you create clothing?
Malakai: Well, I like to wear costumes every day! I like to make outfits for people who are the main characters and help them become who they are in their own movie.
Rochelle: What's the inspiration for this collection?
Malakai: Anything evil! Super villains, they've always been cooler than the heroes in the movies. I wanted to explore that in a way where I could create and dramatic silhouettes and angry colours. I think it was a lot of fun to create those pieces and get in that mindset!
Rochelle: What do you want to see more in fashion?
Malakai: More leather! More leather! More leather!

With “SUPERVILLAINS,” Malakai reminds us that fashion is storytelling and some stories are meant to be louder, sharper, and darker! NDSCLSD continues to prove that individuality will always be the boldest look of all.
